The summer school is organised for the fourth time by the University of Turku, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Åbo Akademi University, Novia University of Applied Sciences and Humak University of Applied Sciences. Sustainable Social Programme showcases Turku
The Summer School offers students the opportunity to get to know Turku and its diverse range of services and experiences as part of the Sustainable Social Programme. The programme is a popular for both visiting and local students, who act as event tutors. The Summer School students hear about local students' experiences of Turku and its vibrant student life.
'As a counterbalance to studies, we organise the Sustainable Social Programme in the Turku region. The programme includes guided leisure activities in an ecologically and socially sustainable way. In this way, we aim to compensate for the climate burden of summer school children's travel. It makes sense to implement the Sustainable Social Programme in Turku, which as a city is a pioneer in climate action," says Sonja Kareranta, Project Coordinator at Turku Åbo Summer School.

The Study in Turku network is a joint activity of the City of Turku and five Turku higher education institutions, which makes Turku the most interesting and attractive student city in Finland.
